Seán is a pupil barrister with a foundation in defence work. He comes to the Bar holding Distinctions in both his law conversion and bar exams, and having previously studied Philosophy, Political Science, Economics and Sociology at Trinity College Dublin and International Relations at the London School of Economics.
Seán’s journey to the Criminal Bar began when he was detained in pre-trial detention for what Human Rights Watch described as “the criminalisation of saving lives.” He was arrested following his coordination of civilian maritime search and rescue efforts in the North Aegean Sea. Since this experience, Seán has advocated for justice and the rule of law in Europe.

Sophie has a background in modern history, languages, and colonial studies, with a focus on cultural identities and displacement.
She carried out a research project with the University of Sheffield on how displaced people are represented in the media, before moving into the field of marketing. With six years of experience, Sophie is passionate about connecting people across borders through storytelling — centring refugee voices, highlighting personal narratives, and placing today’s humanitarian crises within their broader historical contexts to inspire empathy and action.
